Fall Writing Frenzy! 🎃🍂

Jumping back in the game, to where my first blog post started. I'm excited to for my1year blog anniversary. I have not posted and needed a reset. I posted my first blog entry last year with my entry in the Fall Writing Frenzy writing contest. It was a wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to this year. IN THE DARK OF THE NIGHT

In the midst of the night, in the gleam of the light, I see you.

Lingering, staring, watching everything I do.

“What are you looking at?” I bark.

This isn’t the first time that you graced me with your presence.

 I know you hope to scare me away.

Every night, I feel your eyes on me.

“I will reign supreme,” you challenge.

“Not if I can help it,” I whisper.

 I run in the opposite direction, but you follow.

I remember when we were friends…now sworn enemies.

“I will win this challenge!” I proclaim.

“This is not a challenge; it is a war… and I will triumph!” you shout.

As the darkness surrounds us, I grab my sword to annihilate you.

A whistling sound permeates the air, and the earth begins to shake beneath us.

The light flickers as the wind howls around us.

We look at each other, knowing what is about to happen.

At that moment, we knew it wasn’t about us anymore.

The howling gets louder.

We drop to our knees as the earth continues to rumble then cracks open revealing a doom portal.

Do we jump in together and fight or die together in the night!
